WHY TEMPLE EXISTS
WHY TEMPLE EXISTS
Born out of a personal struggle to find answers.
Born out of a personal struggle to find answers.
Born out of a personal struggle to find answers.
Our biggest challenge became our chance
Temple didn’t start as a business. It started as a relationship we refused to give up on.
When we met ten years ago, our connection was easy and alive. Desire and intimacy flowed naturally. We laughed, explored, wanted each other.
Then, a couple of years ago, we found ourselves with three kids, a dog, running our own companies and – everything had shifted.
Andrea had just given birth to twins, and focused on the children. Her body was exhausted, her nervous system overwhelmed, and desire had disappeared. She wanted to feel desire - and still felt love, but couldn't access that part in her anymore. No one had ever taught her how to come back to herself and her body after motherhood.
At the same time, Joakim lost his footing. After selling his company and stepping down as CEO, his sense of direction faded — and without it, he stopped showing up as the grounded, present partner he used to be. He became anxious, demanding. Searching for reassurance instead of offering presence.
We started fighting – about small things that were never really small. Even when we were together, we felt alone. There were periods of quiet sadness, exhaustion, and doubt.
Still, one thing was always clear: we didn’t want to walk away. We loved each other.

At the same time, Joakim lost his grounding. After selling his company and stepping down as CEO, his drive and direction faded. Instead of showing up as a grounded, masculine presence, he became anxious and demanding—more like a frustrated little boy seeking reassurance than the man he used to be.

What We Discovered
After years of frustration, fighting and trying to understand each other, we finally slowed down and realised this was never about Andrea having a “low libido.”
Andrea uncovered unprocessed past trauma, shame, and a lack of body acceptance that made desire feel unsafe.
Joakim realised he had lost polarity—and with it, the capacity to hold space rather than demand closeness.
Neither of us was broken. But both of us were disconnected from ourselves.
How Everything Changed
Instead of blaming each other, we chose curiosity. For two years, we went all in – researching, reading, working with therapists and coaches, attending retreats, and studying the science and psychology of desire, intimacy, hormones, trauma, and the nervous system.
In true Joakim fashion, the complex, multidisciplinary learnings were turned into a structured Excel file – 30 tabs, one for each area a couple could work on to rediscover intimacy and connection. From science-backed insight to best-in-class exercises, spanning trauma, body acceptance, and shame to communication, play, fantasies, and more.
Maybe not romantic. But it worked. By practicing together –consistently and imperfectly – connection returned. Then safety. Then desire.

From Us to Temple
When friends noticed the shift, they became curious.
They tried the exercises themselves.
And it worked. Not just for one type of relationship or one kind of person – but across different backgrounds, stories, and struggles. That’s when we understood this wasn’t just personal. It was universal.
But it was still only an early version. A starting point. To truly do this right, we knew we had to go beyond our own experience.
That’s when Temple began to take shape.
We brought together a world-class team of experts, including Aleksandra Trkulja, Lauren Lee Pitts, Alexandra Wicksell, and Dr. Ina Schuppe Koistinen– covering intimacy, embodiment, neuroscience, trauma, hormones, psychology, and sexual health. Together, they helped challenge, refine, and elevate the work – bringing both clinical rigor and deep human understanding.
Alongside them, we intentionally brought in experienced entrepreneurs, advisors, and long-term investors to back the vision – people who understand that this isn’t about trends or quick fixes, but about building something credible, responsible, and built to last.
That’s how Temple became what it is today. Not a quick course – but a serious, science-based platform for transformation and community for intimacy, desire, and long-term connection.

Temple is built at the intersection of lived experience, science, and respect for human complexity.
We exists to help couples who feel themselves drifting apart – and single women who are ready to release shame, and to feel fully alive and confident in their sexuality. We want to help close the orgasm gap, and to build a future where sex is a natural and pleasurable part of life – and our conversations.
Temple is not about fixing anyone. It’s about creating the conditions where desire feels safe, pleasure becomes shared, and real connection – to yourself or another – can return and last.
If This Feels Familiar
You’re not alone. You’re human. And Temple exists for you.
We hope you join us on this journey!
